Flower Cosmetics now at Walmart

An old friend notified me that “Flower” brand cosmetics are now in Walmart locations across Canada, so I made a point of checking them out. The signage blends into the background so I didn’t notice it at first:

Created by Drew Barrymore, the brand’s philosophy is to make high-end cosmetics without the high-end price. How? They say that they do not spend on advertising in order to keep the price low while using the same ingredients as more expensive cosmetic lines. All products are cruelty-free and made in the U.S.

I was happy to see a “lip stain” type pencil product as that is my favourite way to apply lip colour (it’s called the “Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby” – what a mouthful!):

  1. It’s great having another choice out there for cruelty free cosmetics. Unfortunately it’s sold at Walmart. That unfortunately makes is cruel to me. Hopefully it will picked up my another retail outlet.

    • Yes, I know there is an anti-Walmart population out there. I feel like on this site it’s my job to bring you the info and remain unbiased on topics like this. Thanks for your input!

  2. Re Flowers by Drew Barrymore………………..Have purchased her mascara and lip gloss…………….like both and would buy this again…………..Delighted that it’s cruelty free…………….Wishing you a happy day………………Thanks

  3. Wow, this is great news, even though sold at Walmart ( I also hate it). The packaging is pretty simple, I wouldn’t notice it in the store. But now that you said it’s cruelty-free I’ll deffinitly try it.

  4. Hi!
I was happy to learn about Flower and their cruelty free products, however, when I went to walmart and checked out the products I saw that it said MADE IN CHINA … I’m confused and don’t necessarily believe this line is cruelty free….

    • Hi Crystal, there is nothing wrong with a product being made in China. China requires animal testing on products SOLD there – not made there. Lots of cruelty-free products are made there. Thanks!

      • Crystal – what a coincidence – I just found out that Flower is expanding internationally including into China – which means they will no longer be cruelty-free. I will be removing this page; I have already removed them from the list of brands.
