I have to admit, I was a little scared of the whole Arbonne process at first – I thought, wait, I have to go through someone else to order? As it turns out, all my fears were baseless and now I see how I was silly not to start using this line of products earlier.
I do all of my ordering myself online (through a special link with my consultant’s referral), get amazing discounts (basically, just ignore the regular price you see listed at arbonne.ca because you never really have to pay that) but there is my consultant available if I have questions about anything or if I want to request samples of a product before buying the full size. And they can help you maximize your discounts.
Following a change in medication earlier this year, my face started breaking out (as much as I’d like to hold onto my youth, I would be thrilled to leave acne in the past). A visit to the dermatologist revealed that my acne was all comedogenic – caused by skin care products clogging my pores. He was at a loss as to suggesting new products once I told him my cruelty-free requirement, so I decided it was as good a time as any to try out Arbonne and my skin has cleared up – I have been amazed!
Skin Care Must-Haves:
For acne-prone and sensitive skin: I have been using the “Calm” line. The facial cleanser is amazing and as the description says – it has nothing unnecessary in it; exactly the simplicity my skin needed. I use the equivalent moisturizer at night.
For sun protection: In the morning I use Arbonne’s Brightening Moisture Face Cream with SPF 30 as I am fair-skinned and without any sun protection my nose will turn pink in summer. It is pricey (remember those discounts!) so in winter I switch to their lower priced Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion with SPF 20 when less protection is needed (I leave home in the dark and get home in the dark!). These products were a great find for me as I had previously had trouble finding cruelty-free moisturizers with enough sun protection (i.e. higher than SPF 15).
For acne spot treatment: I use this Clear Advantage product at night on any spots and have been thrilled with the results – it dries those suckers up usually overnight! Love it. Again I had tried other cruelty-free versions that smelled so bad and did nothing so this was a godsend. If acne is your main concern, the Clear Advantage line offers a cleanser, toner and other products.
I was also able to try the Makeup Primer free (a full-sized version!) with my first order and now I can’t live without it. I’m convinced it has also helped my skin by creating a barrier, preventing makeup from clogging my pores.
Arbonne offers a ton of other great products that I encourage you to try. Plus they have a ton of celebrity users, including one of my faves, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Beautiful!
How to buy: Check out arbonne.ca – then your first step is to find an Arbonne rep. If you don’t know of one, I suggest you contact one of the two I know of through Cruelty Free in Canada’s Facebook page: Luanne Pelletier or Sheila Stoneburgh for more information.
